The Yongsan US military base is being returned to South Korea and transformed into a park.
The concept of the park is expanding, blurring the boundaries between the city and the park.
Preserving the existing ambiance of the Yongsan site and its natural surroundings, a urbanscape is being created where nature and artificial elements coexist harmoniously

The rail park (seoul – yongsan station), Namsan, and Hangang Park are interconnected by Yongsan Park, which acts as a central hub.
Yongsan Park compensates for the limited availability of local green spaces in Seoul while maintaining a significant amount of green space.

The park connects areas such as Gyeongnidan-gil, Itaewon, Namyeong-dong, and the Yongsan commercial district. Moreover, the historical and cultural axis descending from Gyeongbokgung Palace extends through the park to the National Museum of Korea.
